The Eliot River Piazza Joe’s Italia senior women’s team won a silver medal at the Canadian Senior Women’s Championships held in Calgary, Alberta from October 5 to 10th, 2005. This is first ever medal won by a Prince Edward Island team at a National Club Competition. The team won the silver medal after losing in the Championship game 0 - 3 against Alberta's Edmonton Victoria. During round-robin play, the PEI Women defeated BC 2 -1, Saskatchewan 6 - 0, Manitoba 2 - 0, and tied Nova Scotia's Athens United 1 - 1 to earn their berth in the gold medal game.
